It’s refreshing and inspiring to begin the year 2020 with the publication of the first number of the Journal of the Faculty of Human Medicine. The year 2019 is behind us, it meant a year of great achievements and indexations for our Journal. This New Year offers us the possibility to deepen and advance in the quality of publications, as well as to diversify and internationalize collaborations.

Our main thanks to the Rector of the Ricardo Palma University, Dr. Elio Ivan Rodríguez Chávez, for all his support and vision to guide the Journal.

In a special way we welcome our "International Guest Editors", Professor Dr. Antonio Russo, from the University of Palermo, Italy brings us an interesting and current editorial on "Liquid Biopsy", Myth or Reality? Addressing a very important topic in the diagnosis, forecast and treatment of patients with cancer. Dr. Russo with a practical and current approach shares with us his experience and the advances in this new era of cancer diagnosis.

On the other hand, it is a pleasure to have Dr. Marcus Tolentino-Silva of the University of Sorocaba, Brazil, who addresses an absolutely important topic: Perspectives of health technology assessments.

As national guest editor, Dr. Willy Ramos Muñoz, who recently published the book: Analysis of the Situation of Cancer in Peru 2018, from the National Center of Epidemiology, Prevention and Disease Control of the Ministry of Health, which will be a powerful tool in decision-making.

s Our journal begins in 2020 with a 50% increase in original articles, its full bilingual version: English and Spanish, as well as its recent access to DIGITAL COMMONS from ELSEVIER, fulfilling the commitment to contribute to the dissemination of quality scientific production.

A quick look at the index of this number shows us 17 original articles, both national and international, addressing various topics of public health and medicine, 03 review articles, 02 clinical cases and 05 letters to the editor.

We invite all readers to continue submitting their works for publication in our indexed journal.
