Today we have the honor and joy of sharing with the scientific and university community that the "Revista de la Facultad de Medicina Humana" is part of the prestigious collection “Scielo Citation index” of Web of Science (WoS). See Figure 1.

Scientific journals have become the first instrument and vehicle of scientific communication. Furthermore, periodic scientific publications are known and recognized by the scientific community based on their editorial quality, their degree of visibility and their levels of impact on scientific production, measured both by citations in other publications and by their presence in alternative metrics(1).

The introduction of the Revista de la Facultad de Medicina Humana in the Scielo Citation Index of Web of Science, Clarivate(2), occurs in the context of having reached indicators that place it among recognized journals, with coverage in Peru, Latin America and the English speaking world. This inclusion represents an incentive and an additional prestige for the Human Medicine Faculty at Ricardo Palma University, increasing the interest and importance for the authors who publish in the journal and the thousands of international readers.

SciELO Citation Index ( Scientific Electronic Library Online) is designed to facilitate the discovery, use, and attribution of scholarly literature in sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities published in leading open access journals from Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as titles from Spain, Portugal, and the Caribbean and South Africa(3).

SciELO Citation Index™ helps researchers make connections to the broader research landscape, for a more complete global picture, by uncovering new insights from research in regional journals from Latin America, Spain, Portugal, the Caribbean, and South Africa(3).

The development of the SciELO Citation Index is the product of the association of the SciELO/FAPESP Program with Thomson Reuters, WoS platform owner. SciELO is fully integrated with the Web of Science platform, allowing researchers to consult and analyze relevant regional content alongside other leading international literature. This is a database of references to articles published in open access journals published in the following countries: Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, South Africa, Spain, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Portugal, Venezuela and Mexico.

This inclusion undoubtedly represents a notable advance in the visibility and scope of the Journal of the Faculty of Human Medicine and is projected as an advanced solution to the problem of indexing and counting the citations received by the articles published in the journals of the countries. of the SciELO Network and should be considered as a reference by the management and support agencies for scientific research and communication of the Ibero-American countries.(4,5)

The disciplines and subjects that are covered in Scielo Citation Index are:
