Conflict as a driver of social change
Abstract
The concept of social capital has acquired fundamental importance in the analysis of social interactions, the formation of the social fabric and the complexity of contemporary societies, and among these are conflict and change or social entropy. Although it is commonly associated with harmony and collaboration, it is important to recognize the role of conflict in its dynamics. Conflict can be beneficial by generating constructive tensions that drive social change and adaptation of social relationships. Effective conflict management and the promotion of social capital are crucial to the cohesive functioning of communities and societies. The integration of present social elements such as the environment, and personal goals and objectives is relevant to provide a broader framework for the study and understanding of conflicts and social changes.
