A propósito del sexto Premio Nobel polaco de Literatura

El presente artículo comenta el otorgamiento del Premio Nobel de Literatura del 2018 a la escritora polaca Olga Tokarczuk. Este premio constituye el sexto otorgado a un escritor polaco. Se discute la preeminencia de autores de un país europeo relativamente pequeño, con una lengua que solo la hablan treinta millones de personas y que no suele ser traducida; y se señalan algunas causas para ello. Asimismo se comenta la escasa presencia de autores de otros continentes en la lista de los premios Nobel de Literatura.

Abstract
This paper comments on the awarding of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Literature to the Polish writer Olga Tokarczuk. This Nobel Prize is the sixth awarded to a Polish writer. The author discusses the preeminence of authors from a relatively small European country, with a language that is only spoken by thirty million
people and that is not usually translated, pointing out some causes for it. It is also commented on the little presence of authors from other continents in the list of Nobel Prizes in Literature.
