In November 2014, Japan hosted a major global event organized by UNESCO on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The 9th Congress of Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCE) was held in Okayama. Ms. Teresa Salinas, Executive Director of RCE Lima-Callao, participated in the presentation of her work The Raising in Life: A Training Experience in the Central Andes of Peru, which is based on the Diploma in Biodiversity and Intercultural Knowledge that won the RCE Recognition Award for Outstanding Flagship Project at this congress, awarded by the United Nations University.
