BIRD SIGHTING ON THE CAMPUS OF THE RICARDO PALMA UNIVERSITY, LIMA, PERU

Th e bird diversity of the Ricardo Palma University campus was studied through continuous sightings with the aim of developing an inventory of birds that are distributed on the campus, in addition to indicating their trophic guild and compare this study with similar campuses of Peruvian universities. Th e bird species richness was 22, that belong to 15 families grouped in 8 orders. Most species belong to the order Passeriformes. Th e most representative trophic guild was the granivore. In addition, the observed richness of species, families and orders with similar campuses of Peruvian universities was compared. Th e campus of the Ricardo Palma University is considered an interesting bird watching point within an urban ecosystem.
