The study aimed to describe the circular economy (CE) from an innovation perspective. Using ScienceDirect with the search equation: “circular economy model” AND “technological innovation” AND “development” and the fi lters of the years 2021, 2022, and 2023, the open-access review article was selected. Th e information was analyzed using the Prisma methodology. Th en, a seed map was generated from Google Litmap where a link quadrant was created according to previous citations of correspondence. From a total of 32 review articles, four were fi nally analyzed. It was observed, from quadrants that there was a citation match up to 2018. It is concluded that CE enables resource effi ciency and sustainability from its basis in technological innovation. Th e concept of CE has a broad interpretation, and this was shown by the lack of overlapping citations after 2018, which would indicate diverse perspectives contributing to development.
