Abstract

Within the framework of studies on the aquatic biodiversity of the Chillón River, located in the central region of Peru, the presence of Hypsibius sp., a genus of tardigrades, has been identified in its waters. Despite the environmental challenges facing the river, such as pollution and urban growth, the presence of these resistant microorganisms suggests that some habitats can still support life under adverse conditions.
