Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the manifestation of alley characteristics in the consolidated urban areas of Cusco in the period 2010-2020, through qualitative research". The results show that the alley emerges as a collective housing model when a parent property is subdivided into sublots and a narrow corridor for common use, and houses many housing units in buildings that vary between 4 to 6 levels with traditional construction technology. reinforced concrete to satisfy the housing need of a sector of the population with a medium socioeconomic level, which seeks to generate greater income through rent, but at the cost of generating housing that does
not consider the minimum conditions of habitability in sunlight, lighting, ventilation and privacy for its occupants.
