An approximate ethnography: The management of emotions in a police couple from the Biot commune in France. Between work and everyday life

Abstract

This research is part of the anthropology of emotions and the component approach. Thus, we will investigate the management and emotional work of a couple of police officers. From this research we will go into the social, cultural and physiological processes that have the dimension of emotions. Therefore, in methodological terms a qualitative work is proposed, in which semi-structured interviews were developed in depth as life stories. That is why we have decided to limit our research area to a couple of policemen from the commune of Biot, located in the Alpes-Maritimes department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France.
