Abstract

At present, statistical process control (SPC) has become a strategic activity for all organizations. For this reason, the teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level of the principles of SPC must be updated in accordance with the changes observed in the international literature and in actual work environments. With the globalization of the markets a new paradigm arose in the scientific metrology that must be transferred to students in a permanent formation. Having made this observation, it is necessary to highlight that it is impossible to know the real value of a
measurand. In consequence, the concepts of veracity, precision, accuracy and errors of measurement must be observed from an uncertainty perspective and the teaching should be based on procedural strategies and pedagogic strategies adapted to every situation.
