Abstract

In the investigation, each piece of the mini-plant was designed by SolidWorks software, for the tanks stainless steel material was considered due to its high resistance to corrosion. The electrical analysis consisted of the design of the electrical panel and the distribution of the electrical equipment, considering a low voltage motor, four recirculated pumps and two heating resistors for the maceration and cooking tanks, complying with the operation and with the proposed objective; the calculation of the amount of power that the miniplant works was made. For the control system, a PLC was programmed and simulated by HMI which allows the operator to easily manipulate the four processes. The temperature in the mashing and cooking processes are controlled by a PID. As a result, it was possible to design and simulate the mechanical behavior, achieving positive pressures, minimum stresses of 0 MPa and maximum stresses of 10.39 MPa with a yield point of 206.8MPa and a safety factor of 11, for the supports, and 0.01 MPa and a maximum of 29.42 MPa with a yield limit of 137.9 MPa and a safety factor of 4.7 for the tank covers. A power consumption analysis was carried out, obtaining 3473W as a result. With the Matlab software, it was possible to program and tune a PID temperature controller, resulting in Kp=35.8, Ki=120 and Kd=0.
