Ar(t)chitecture: An educational strategy of social approach since childhood

Abstract

This article shows the experience of teaching architecture to children in various urban spaces. The process assumes the house as an object of experimentation, when it is built - mostly – they reveal informally problems that infl uence the development of children. The Ar(t)chitecture workshop has been carried out through games in drawings and mockups to understand children’s way of life, it has also allowed to impart architectural culture. The initiative has revealed physical-spatial and even social problems in each house, infants have clearly identifi ed the dilemmas that self-construction and complex confl icts appear in their quality of life. The Ar(t)chitecture workshop has had permanent contact with children and the results have been shared in academic and institutional sites in Peru and the world.
